Arms of Green of Green's Norton, Northamptonshire: Azure, three bucks trippant or. It is suggested they are canting arms referring to the family's early seat of "Boketon" (now Boughton) in Northamptonshire.(Source: Lora Sarah Nichols La Mance, The Greene Family and its Branches from A.D. 861 to A.D. 1904, New York, 1904, p.12[1]) The Green family was descended from Sir Henry Green (d.1369), of Boughton (anciently "Boketon"), Northamptonshire, Chief Justice of the King's Bench, who purchased the manor of Norton (later "Greens Norton") in Northamptonshire, to which his descendants moved their residence. His six successive desvndants were all named Thomas Green, all were knights. The last in the senior male line was Sir Thomas Green (c. 1461–1506), grandfather of Katherine Parr, last wife of Henry VIII. He left two daughters and eventual co-heiresses (on the death of their childless brother William Parr, 1st Marquess of Northampton):
