St. Patrick's Cathedral of the Church of Ireland, Armagh, County Armagh, Northern Ireland English: 10th-century high cross fragment at the western end of the north aisle which belonged to the Market Cross in Armagh, erected in 1763. In 1916 the fragments were moved to their present location in the cathedral. (See Peter Harbison, Irish High Crosses, pp. 20–23; Kevin V. Mulligan, The Buildings of Ireland: South Ulster, p. 104.) |
