Description

Statuette en ivoire de la déesse Ariane, de la mythologie grecque. Elle porte les attributs d'une Ménade (le thyrse dans la main droite) ; un Satyre l'accompagne. Œuvre provenant peut-être d'Alexandrie, du VIème siècle après J.-C. (Fond du Somerand).

Photographié au Musée national du moyen-âge - Thermes et hôtel de Cluny (photographie autorisée dans le musée et l'exposition, avec une restriction : sans flash).
