an easy winner, fifty yardsahead. Georgetown, our only dangerous rival during the race came in second.As prizes, each member of the team received a gold watch, and a silk bannerbearing the names of the schools taking part in the race, was presented to thecollege. We also sent Thompson, Lambie and Stewart to take part in the St. Louisrace. Lambie took second place in the half mile finals and Stewart fourthplace in the hundred yard dash. With such a start and so many winners to choose from it looked as thoughWestminster was to have a successful season. However, the meet of the collegesof Western Pennsylvania, to he held at Geneva was declared oft. Alleghenywould not hold a dual meet and Washington and Jefferson made unreasonabledemands, giving as their excuse that we had too many good men. Hence theonly other event in which our track men took part was the Tnter-Class Meetheld about the middle of May. The Inter-Class Mile Relay, the principle event,was won by the class of 1905. RELAY TKAM The Tennis Association — — f^l^lHE Tennis Association of Westminster College was organized in theI 1 I spring of 1900, by lovers of the sport among the faculty and studentl^HPM! body. The membership, which at first was thirty, has gradually in-creased to forty. The courts are centrally located near the First United Presbyterian Church.At the time of organization the association constructed three courts, but theincrease in membership demanding more, two additional ones were built. Theyare all kept in excellent condition, and are often all in use. Each year contests are held in both singles and doubles. During 1904 thechampionship in singles was won by Herbert Patterson, 07, and in doubles byJohn Campbell, 07, and Herbert Patterson, 07. OFFICERS. President, Walter K. Long, 05.
