Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Ardvorlich Camp Concrete bases between the railway and the A82 at Ardvorlich. It is obvious that this was once a built up area, and it was a workers camp for the Loch Sloy hydroelectric scheme in the 1940s. It also acted as a prisoner of war camp, and there was some manipulation of words to allow POWs to work on the hydro without breaching the terms of the Geneva Convention. The occupants of this camp and one to the south built the first of the great post war power schemes and at great cost, 21 workers of several nationalities were killed during the construction.
