Summary
[edit]DescriptionArdlui railway geograph-2339081-by-Ben-Brooksbank.jpg |
English: A Down freight on the West Highland Line at Ardlui. View westward at Ardlui Station on the ex-North British Glasgow - Helensburgh - Fort William line. Designed by Sir Nigel Gresley as a lighter version of his very successful V2 2-6-2, only two engines of his V4, No. 1700 'Bantom Cock' (seen here) and No. 1701, were built just before he died in 1941 and his successor (Edward Thompson) did not perpetuate the design. |
