| Description |
English: This picture was taken in Possession Island (Crozet Archipelago) at the site named "the elephant seal pool". This picture was taken in december 2002 by Nicolas Servera. This picture is an enlargement of the picture “Arctocephalus tropicalis Crozet fight 01.JPG”. You can see a male of the subantarctic fur seal (Arctocephalus tropicalis) during a confrontation with another one. The blue arrows show two old scares, one on the the top of the neck, one on the foreleg.
Français : Cette photo a été prise sur l'île de la Possession (Archipel de Crozet) sur le site nommé "La Mare aux éléphants". Cette photo a été prise en décembre 2002 par Nicolas Servera. Cette image est un agrandissement de l'image « Arctocephalus tropicalis Crozet fight 01.JPG». Vous pouvez voir un mâle otarie subantarctique (Arctocephalus tropicalis) au cours d'un affrontement symbolique avec un autre mâle. Les flèches bleues indiquent deux anciennes cicatrices, l'une est située en haut du cou, l'autre est située sur la patte antérieure. |
