L'édifice est placé à une petite distance (i2â¢,5o) de la voie pu- blique, au milieu d'un terrain de 5,787 mètres carrés, dont la partie sur la rue offre une longueur de gd mètres; sa façade principale, dirigée vers le Sud-Ouest, a 11 mètres de hauteur et 5o mètres de longueur; six piliers principaux en pierre de taille maintiennent les fondations, établies dans 3o centimètres de terre végétale et 80 centimètres d'argile; l'édifice est presque tout entier construit en briques formant des murs épais, suivant la coutume italienne (fig. 2 ). La cour qui sépare les deux ailes sera simplement sablée et contiendra des appareils de gymnastique et une piscine pour la natation pendant l'été. A l'extrémité Nord Est du grand jardin, planté d'arbres à essence résineuse, une construction sera plus tard établie, composée de quelques chambres d'observation pour les cas suspects de maladies contagieuses, si la pratique vient en démontrer la nécessité.

Institut pour les enfants ractiitiques, en conslruction à Milan. â Coupe en élévation et plan d'ensemble. Si l'on pénètre ensuite par le perron dans l'Institut lui-même, il faut savoir qu'afin de réaliser le but auquel il est destiné, il répond dans sa distribution à trois parties distinctes : l'école, l'ambulance et finfirmerie : l'école pour les enfants qui y sont gardés toute la journée, l'ambulance pour les consultations ex- ternes, et l'infirmerie pour le traitement des cas nécessitant une intervention chirurgicale et exigeant un séjour prolongé de jour et de nuit.
