Degaon, also referred to as the Degamve or Degam, is about 50 kilometers southeast of Belagavi. it is notable for its 12th-century Hindu temple with unusual Hindu architecture and now called as Kamala Narayana temple (previously called Kalla Gudi or Degamve Basti Gudi).

The temple faces east and has three sanctums, but the middle one projects forward of the other two. The three sanctums share a long pillared mandapa. The lalatabimba above the three sanctums suggest that the temple was originally dedicated to the three Hindu goddesses – Saraswati, Lakshmi and Mahakali (form of Parvati). However, the statues inside the sanctums are Vishnu, Lakshmi-Narayana and Mahakali. It is likely that the original statues were destroyed, and the regional Hindus replaced the originals with the extant statues. The temple has several inscriptions, one of which confirms that the temple received a grant from a Kadamba queen in Kali Yuga 4276 (or 1175 CE). The temple has elegant Hindu artwork.

This is a JPEG format plan and architectural drawing of a historic Indian temple or monument. The relative scale and relative dimensions in this architectural drawing are close to the actual but neither exact nor complete. The plan illustrates the design and layout, but some intricate details or parts of the temple may not be shown. In cases where exact measurements were not feasible, the drawing uses best approximations and rounds the best measurements feasible.
