Summary

Description
English: The Frank Bond House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Espanola, New Mexico. The property is also listed on the New Mexico Register of Cultural Properties. The early merchant and sheep dealer, Frank Bond, promoted a prosperous wool industry in this small northern New Mexico town in the late 1880's and early 1900's. The Bond House, which is now a historical museum, dominates the plaza of Espanola. Art exhibits by local artist and craftspersons at the Bond house are well attended and occur on a regular basis. The Classical Revival architectural style of the Bond House is unique in Espanola as well as Northern New Mexico in general. The importance of Espanola in New Mexico history is often overlooked although it was the first capital of Spain in Nuevo Mexico. For hundreds of years it was a community of Hispanic and Native American farmers, later a railroad town, a merchant community and a source of workers for the Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratories.

This is an image of a place or building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States of America. Its reference number is 80002564.
