LARGE SCALE PRODUCTION OFPANEL HOUSES PLANNED A 1947 production schedule of 10,000 four-roomhouses to sell for $4500 is planned for the PacificCoast by the General Panel Corporation of Cali-fornia, according to a recent announcement. The houses to be constructed entirely of inter-changeable insulated plywood panels will havetwo bedrooms. The $22,000,000 building programwas launched by the corporation upon receipt ofa letter of intent from the National Housing Ex-pediter. Distribution will be in the hands of the CelotexCorporation, which recently entered into an agree-ment with the General Panel Corporation of NewYork, parent company of the California concern. George E. Swenson, a director and assistant tothe president of the Celotex Corporation, will servein a liaison capacity between the distributors andthe General Panel Corporation of California, whowill manufacture the revolutionary panel house.
