Frank Park, engineerfor the Carrier Engineering Corporation of Cali-fornia, whose subject. was ManufacturingWeather to Make Every Day a Good Day . Mr.Parks address was accompanied by several viso-matic records. The Producers Council, affiliated with theAmerican Institute of Architects, is a nationalorganization in which manufacturers of diverselines of building materials and equipment and as-sociations of such manufacturers have joinedforces to promote their common interests and touphold certain desirable standards essential tothe welfare and progress of the industry. All responsible American manufacturers ofquality building products who are in sympathywith the aims and otherwise meet the membershiprequirements, are eligible for membership in theProducers Council. G. R. Kingsland is Governor of the San Fran-cisco club.

ESCALATOR IN MANHATTAN QUEENS INDE-PENDENT SUBWAY STATION. NEW YORK York City, which was recently formally openedin a ceremony attended by public transportationofficials. The escalator, built by the Otis ElevatorCompany, is 112 feet long and can carry 4.000people an hour from the platform 70 feet under-ground to street level. The new subway stationsare built so that additional escalators may beadded as needed. ARCHITECT INJURED IN COLLISIONNoble Newsom. architect, and associated withArchie C. Newsom, with offices in the Russ Build-ing. San Francisco, was injured in an automobileaccident on the state highway near Fairfield, Sep-tember 20, The architect was returning from atrip to the Feather river district where he hadgone to inspect a site for a swimming pool forthe Piedmont Boy Scouts.
