The ever-increasing volume of automobile and truck traffic de-mands a large unbroken plaza at this point to avoid damming action as theincoming and local streams meet and cross and rearrange themselves. THE PLAZA IN THE WEST END, CLARKDALE, ARIZONAHerding & Boyd, Architects ened to a settling basin. To avoid confusion in this plaza a kiosk or gasolinestation should be installed where indicated for the double purpose of regulatingthe traffic and serving the needs of incoming motor vehicles. In connectionwith this arrangement it is suggested to omit the present stretch of SeventhStreet between First and Third to the north of the Square entirely. There isno need for this street and it will serve only to confuse unfamiliar incomingtraffic from the southwest and east, bound for the north, all of which trafficshould be carried on Broadway. The most congested trend of local traffic willbe east and north of the public square toward the railroad to which readyegress is offered from the converging point of the Public Square by Main Streetand First Street. Sixth and Main Streets will be the center of the future com-mercial development of the town. . The railroad station should be located as
