Farmer Sues Queens Fliers For $11,000 Crop-Land Loss. Archie Baxter, of 1932 E. 37th st., Leo L. Loesing, of 3107 Avenue T. end Fred Anderson, of 1349 E 59th st., pilots who fly their Waco 10 over these parts, have been named as defendants in two suits in Supreme Court by James di Gioia, farmer, who grows cabbages and other vegetables at Avenue U, near Mill Basin Creek. In one suit the farmer demands damages, alleging that last June they alighted on and hopped from his farm, destroying $4,000 worth of produce and tearing up a portion of his farm. In the second suit di Gioia alleges that they brought a motorcar and a roller to his place and tried to flatten out his territory for easier hopoffs, causing damage estimated at $7,000. Arthur J. Stern, attorney for the fliers, declared be will file an answer saying that the farmer's claim is without merit. The young men have an "airport" of their own near the farm.
