Description
Français : Le gros bourg de Makthar est d’origine relativement récente puisqu’il s’est établi en 1887 à proximité de l’ancienne cité antique de Mactaris dont il a repris le nom. Il semble que la cité a été fondée au premier siècle avant-J.C par des colons d’origine punique ou bien des libyques punicisés. Ils seraient venus se mêler aux Numides et leur apportèrent techniques nouvelles et panthéon divin.
