COSOV/ DAVINI/AGO/ Q V C / EX VOTO A Coso Udaviniago. Q(?), V (?) C (?) cumpriu o seu voto. Procedencia: Antiga igrexa parroquial de San Martiño de Meirás, Sada, A Coruña. NOMES GALAICOS, DIVINOS E HUMANOS Na antiga Gallaecia non se conservan textos na lingua propia. Os indíxenas só comezaron a usar a escrita a partir da conquista romana, como mostran os seus monumentos funerarios e votivos. Sen embargo, a través destes chegaron a nós moitos nomes persoais e divinos galaicos, datados a maioría en torno aos séculos II e III d.C., como os que se expoñen. Os deuses indíxenas aquí adorados, Lugoves e Coso, documéntanse noutras partes da Gallaecia e fóra dela. Os seus teónimos ou nomes divinos adoitan ir acompañados dun adxectivo en lingua indíxena, como Arquienos e Udaviniago. Estes indicarían a relación do deus con algún poder, área de influencia ou lugar xeográfico concreto, pero descoñecemos os seus significados. Sobre o deus Coso, de ampla extensión no noroeste peninsular, discútese o seu carácter guerreiro, fluvial, protector de comunidades... Sobre os Lugoves, sabemos que se trata do deus supremo dos celtas Lugus, expresado na ara por tres foculi -orificios de ofrendas-, como os que tamén vemos nas aras dos Lares Viales. |
