| Description |
English: Approaching Broad Street Tunnel, Birmingham In Gas Street Basin, in Birmingham Canal waters a few metres north of the Worcester Bar (see Gas_Street_Basin).
The tunnel goes under Broad Street and its buildings, and is 83 yards (76 metres) long. Old Turn Junction is a further two hundred and fifty metres ahead. This is the 1773 Paradise Street Branch which split off at Old Turn Junction and headed through the tunnel to the basin and then on under Bridge Street in a two pronged set of wharfs (now filled in and built over). |
