A small ravine tributary to Oro Fino Creek consti-tutes practically all the placer ground in this district, and miningoperations have been confined to the use of hydraulic elevators. Theaverage fineness of the gold in this district is 785. Hydraulic washingshave yielded from 75 cents to 85 cents per cubic yard of gravel. Thetwo principal placer mines are the Eastlick Brothers and the Wright& Fletcher. The quartz veins, while numerous, all carry more or lessgold and are small, and the gold generally occurs in pockets, in thelimestone.
