SAN FRANCISCO DISTRICT. By J. S. Hunter, Assistant Secretary. Game Conditions.During the past two years, the game situation in the San Franciscodivision has been very satisfactory. There is yet an abundance of allnative varieties of game and with some slight changes in the laws now inforce a very considerable increase should be noted in all sections. Deer. In many sections the deer are far more abundant than they were afew 3^ears ago, but in other sections there has been a very appreciabledecline each year. On another page is listed the kill of deer throughoutthe state. This list is based for the most part on the records obtainedby our deputies. It is probable that the actual number killed would bedouble that given. From these figures it can be easily understood howessential it is that better protection
