Description
English: A copper-alloy apothecaries' weight of Post-Medieval date. It is square in form and rectangular in section with slightly faceted sides. Both faces are stamped with a mark of value for two drachms (7.78g). This weight measures 15.72mm in length, 14.46mm in width, 4.71mm in thickness, and 7.36g in weight.

This is an apothecaries' weight of Post-Medieval date falling just below the standard weight for two drachms. It is likely to date to between the 17th and 19th centuries AD (see Withers and Withers, 1995: p. 65; Biggs, 1992: pp. 8-9)
