Description
Deutsch: Die Statue, die den Gott Apollo als Schütze zeigt (wobei sein Bogen heute fehlt) ist die größte Bronzefigur, die in Pompeji bisher ausgegraben worden ist. Sie zerbrach beim Ausbruch des Vesuvs 79 n. Chr. in mehrere Teile, die 1817/1818 gefunden und wieder zusammengesetzt wurden; seither steht sie im Archäologische Nationalmuseum in Neapel und ist am Fundort durch eine Kopie ersetzt worden. Die Gestaltung der Stoffbahn, die um die Oberarme drapiert ist, wurde zum Teil rekonstruiert (erneut 2009/2010 durch Experten in der Getty Villa, USA).
