Description
English: This image of a man surrounded by several slates appeared in the East Oregonian, in an advertisement for M. A. Rader's Furniture and Carpet Store (Pendleton, OR). It illustrated the statement that "any way you figure it" (that is, by doing calculations on the slates), you would save money.
