Summary

[edit]
Description
English: One of some large size pictures of buildings on the Grote Markt, some of a single one, some of a row. Information can be found on Wikimapia (in Dutch, some in other languages). Nr. 11 is mentioned twice, Den Aren is correct. The other, nr. 11 is nr. 13, De Vos.

Nr. 7 “Spaengien” (Spain) was built in 1515-16 for the St. George arbalest guild, but destroyed in 1576 during the Spanish Fury. In 1582 the rebuilt was finished, that was restored in 1892. Nr. 9 “De Spieghel” (The mirror) was the seat of the longbow guild. It was rebuilt in 1903-04 in neogothic style under architect F. Van Dijck. The monument of St. Sebastian in stone is by J. Gerrits. Nr. 11, Den Aren (The eagle, because of the eagle on its top [my interpretation]). Rebuilt in 1906 under architect F. Van Dijck. On Wikimapia (in Dutch, some in other languages). Nr. 11 is mentioned twice, Den Aren is correct. The other, nr. 11 is nr. 13, De Vos. Nr. 13 “De Vos” (The fox), earlier “De Pauw” (The peacock), house of the fencers. Re-erected in 1947 under architect H. Van Dijck. On Wikimapia (in Dutch, some in other languages). Nr. 11 is mentioned twice, Den Aren is correct. The other, nr. 11 is nr. 13, De Vos.

The house at the corner with a side street may have number 13 also, as the house across the street has 15.
