Español: Lápida en la tumba de Antonio Román Reina, presidente de la Diputación de Málaga y militante socialista, en el cementerio de San Miguel, Málaga. España. La inscripción sobre la lápida dice: «Excmo. Sr. Antonio / Román Reina / Presidente de la Diputación de Málaga / y militante socialista. / Asesinado el 11 de Junio de 1936». Natural de Benamargosa y barrilero de profesión, fue presidente de la Diputación Provincial de Málaga por un breve periodo de tiempo, desde el 5 de marzo de 1936 hasta el 11 de junio de 1936, cuando fue asesinado. Nunca se esclareció quiénes fueron los responsables de su asesinato. Los historiadores enmarcan su fallecimiento en los enfrentamientos de sindicatos de izquierda, mientras que la familia responsabiliza de su muerte a grupos fascistas. El catedrático universitario Antonio Nadal, en su libro La Guerra Civil en Málaga (Málaga: Argúval, 1984) dice sobre su asesinato: «Se acusó a la CNT, sin que tengamos pruebas de ello».[1] |
