Este retrato de una dama de la casa ducal del Infantado fue adquirido por el Ministerio de Cultura y asignado al Museo de Guadalajara a cuyos fondos pertenece desde 2022.

El retrato firmado por Antonio Ricci en 1603 muestra a la joven condesa Luisa de Mendoza y Mendoza (1582-1619) llamada a heredar de su madre el título de duquesa del Infantado, sucesión que fue frustrada por su temprana muerte.

Lujosamente ataviada y adoptando la postura de los retratos cortesanos de la época, la imagen de Luisa de Mendoza ha llegado al Museo de Guadalajara, para permanecer en el edificio donde nació, la sede de esta Institución: el Palacio del Infantado."
