Notes |
English: The steel barque Dunearn was built on the Clyde by Russell & Co. at Port Glasgow in 1894. Registered at 1,632 tons gross (1,533 net), she measured 245 feet in length with a 38 foot beam and was owned by James Dunn & Sons of Glasgow. Sold to new owners based in London in 1900, she was then sold to Norwegian owners in 1909 who retained her original name and put her to work under Norwegian colours and registry. On 16th July 1910 she sailed from Newcastle, New South Wales, bound for Valparaiso almost certainly loaded with coal although her cargo was not specified after which she disappeared without trace and was never heard of again.[1] |
