Description
The Christine was built by Burmeister & Wain in Copenhagen for Det Danske Petroleums-Aktieselskab in Copenhagen. She was launched in September 1890 (Yard no. 162) and delivered the following month. She was an early example of a tanker. In 1901 she was sold to Anglo-American Oil Co. Ltd., London and became the Tioga. In 1910 she was sold to Soc. Ballenera Christensen y Cia., Corral, Chile and became a floating whale factory. Wrecked and lost in February 1913 at Coronation Island in the South Orkney Islands near the Antarctic.
