Description
Deutsch: Émile-Antoine Bourdelle (1861–1929) Bildhauer, Kunstlehrer. Bronzeguss Rundplastik, 1902–1911, Pomona oder Le Fruit. 2009 wurde die Plastik restauriert. Im Auftrag des Basler Kunstvereins mit Unterstützung der Gesellschaft für das Gute und Gemeinnützige Basel (GGG). Der von der Ausstellung in Brüssel mitgelieferte Sockel wurde 1955 ersetzt. Bereits 1929, direkt nach der Ausstellung, wo sie in der Mitte des ersten Saales am Steinenberg zu sehen war, wurde sie auf dem von Bäumen gesäumten Platz als Freiplastik für die gesamte Basler Bevölkerung zugänglich gemacht. Die Bronze ist u. a. signiert mit «Alexis Rudier, Fondeur. Paris».
