Stag Attacked by a Lynx
Description
English: When a plaster model of this sculpture was exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1834, the critic Maurice-Alexandre Decamps commented "Barye's animal combats are little dramas, full of emotion and palpitating with life." This unique bronze cast was commissioned by the duke of Orléans in 1842 and was made using a model dated 1836.
