Ce .eft defendu par une fofle, fur lequel etait un pont-levis, lorfquon en fitle deftein en 1777 ; mais le Chateau ayant ete depuis peu repare, unearche y a ete fubftituee. Au deflus de la porte exterieure fe voit dans laGravure la pierre, qui, felon Cambden, porte les armes de Richard III.ce qui a fait penfer, que eetait lui qui avait fait elever cette partie duChateau. Dans la porte interieure fe voit un refte de la vieille herfe,dont parlent quelques auteurs topographiques, qui ont ecrit depuisCambden. N- >C 11
