Deutsch: Fragment eines römischen Puteals (einer Brunnenmündung) mit einer tanzenden Mänade nach attischen Vorbildern des späten 5. Jahrhunderts v. Chr., Menade gibt mit ihrem Tympanon den Rhythmus vor; zum Fragment gehören wohl weitere Teile mit weiteren Figuren aus dem dionysischen Umkreis, die Bogenform erhielt das Relief erst in moderner Zeit; 1. Jahrhundert; heute in der Antikensammlung Würzburg, Inventarnummer H 4969.
English: Fragment of a Roman Puteal (a fountain mouth) with a dancing maenad, oriented on attic models of the late 5th century BC, Menade gives with her tympanum the rhythm; fragment probably include more parts with other dionysian figures, the arc shape was given to the relief in modern times; 1st century; now Antikensammlung Würzburg, inventory number H 4969. |
