| Description |
English: Founded as a state society in Oberlin, Ohio, in 1893, the Anti-Saloon League became a national organization in 1895 and was the leading organization lobbying for prohibition in the United States in the early 20th century. Congress voted nationwide prohibition into the Constitution with the passage of the 18th Amendment in 1920, then repealed the amendment in 1933. The League continued despite the end of prohibition, and is today known as the American Council on Alcohol Problems. This pledge card was used for members to enroll in a monthly subscription service to support the Anti-Saloon League's campaign for national prohibition.
