Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This is a statue of Harpokrates (Horus), Roman, second century AD, found in Perge in 1979 (the main parts) and 1984 (the head) in respectively the Phrygidarium and the Caldarium of the South Bath. I took three pictures of the upper part, with a cornucopia in his left arm, his right hand with a finger against his mouth. The body is nude as visible in this "total".

Three statues of Egyptian gods were found at Purge, each time with the head separated from the body, this is interpreted as the opposition against gods of Egyptian origin in the region.
