| Description |
Nederlands: Omschrijving: Ansichtkaarten, Nederland. Driebergen-Rijsenburg (bij Zeist), monument met Sint Joris en de draak opgericht ter ere van de rooms-katholieke voorman dr. H.J.A.M. Schaepman (1844-1903). Bij het monument ligt een krans. Het neogotische monument is ontworpen door de bekende architect en beeldhouwer Pierre Cuypers en werd onthuld in 1908. De reliëfs bevatten scenes uit het leven van Schaepman en teksten uit zijn geschriften. Zelf is Schapeman levensgroot aan de voorzijde van het monument afgebeeld met geheven hand. Op de achtergrond het Grootseminarie Rijsenburg uit 1856 / 1857, gesloopt in 1984, waar dr. Herman Schapeman in 1870 professor werd]. Opname gemaakt voor de Nederlandse ansichtkaarten uitgeverij Vigevano. Zonder datum [omstreeks 1925-1940.] |
