Historical background: La signature "C. Houin" paraît douteuse. De plus, compte-tenu de la médiocrité de la toile, l'anonymat, sous lequel le portrait est passé en vente, a été maintenu. Il n'y a pas à tenir compte de la mauvaise lecture "Noimon" portée sur le registre d'entrée. Bien qu'il y ait une ressemblance avec la mère de l'empereur, la datation du costume pose un problème pour l'identification. Il date de 1815-1818 et Laetitia Ramolino aurait alors 65-68 ans. Le personnage représenté ici ne parait guère avoir plus de 50 ans. (C.f. fiche d'inventaire) |
