Eier / Owner Institution: Trondheim byarkiv, The Municipal Archives of Trondheim Arkivreferanse / Archive reference: Byarkivet, sak 10/34636 Bakgrunn: I 2010 ble Byarkivet kontaktet av enken etter Nikolay Sokolov (1915 - 2000) i Russland. Hun hadde under opprydding av sin ektemanns papirer kommet over brev, bilder og fortellinger som hennes mann hadde mottatt og skrevet under og etter andre verdenskrig. Enken var derfor interessert i å få vite mer om hennes ektemanns opphold i Trondheim. Nikolay Sokolov var sovjetisk krigsfange i Norge og en av de mange fangene som befant seg i Trondheim og Strinda under krigen. Under sitt fangenskap i byen stiftet han bekjentskap med flere lokale nordmenn, deriblant Anny Nilsen på Charlottenlund, og han skrev både dikt og noveller basert på sine opplevelser i Norge og Trondheim. Etter krigen kom han tilbake til Sovjetunionen, hvor han senere ble professor i litteratur ved universitetet i St. Petersburg. Enken ble satt i kontakt med Per Øverland, som nå har beskrevet historien til krigsfangen Sokolov og hans norske hjelpere i Trondheim i Årbok for Strinda historielag 2013. |
