English: Built in 1948-1955, this Byzantine Revival and Art Moderne-style building was designed by Apostolos Gelep for the congregation of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, founded in 1921 to serve the growing Greek population in the city of Dayton. A modernist Community Center, to the rear of the church, was constructed between 1959 and 1969, replacing the former Keys Mansion, which once stood on the grounds of the church. The building features a buff brick exterior with a gabled roof, a large copper dome with arched stained glass windows over the crossing, roman arched stained glass windows, limestone trim, a tall nave flanked by lower aisles, a tower with corner buttresses and a small octagonal belfry with a domed roof, a front porch with decorative columns, a shorter front tower with a domed roof, and a community center to the southwest with a buff brick exterior and arched bays. The building is a contributing structure in the Steele’s Hill-Grafton Hill Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, and increased to its present size in 2023.
