Lead Alloy

Buckle frame. Cast annular buckle with a constriction to receive an iron pin (lost); the curved form - possibly exacerbated by stress - may indicate use as a shoe buckle. The frame may bear decorative groove running around its convex display face. Now encrusted. Suggested date: Late Medieval-Post-Medieval, 1400-1600.

Length: 27.0mm, Width: 30.2mm, Thickness: 4.1mm, Weight: 6.36gms.
