Title
Annular Buckle
Description
English: A cast, copper alloy, double-loop buckle dating from 1400-1500. The buckle is fairly worn with incised transverse grooves on both loops. The loop on the right has two shallow constrictions on the outer circumference of the frame at the top and bottom of the loop. There is a central pin bar between the two loops. The reverse of the buckle is flat and undecorated. The buckle weighs 8.83g and measures 36.48mm in width, 32.78mm in length and 2.83mm in thickness. Similar examples can be seen in 'Buckles 1250-1800' by Ross Whitehead, Page 46, Numbers 265 & 266.
