Dentistry, shopping, and dressmaking should, so far as possible,be attended to before the beginning of the school year, or duringholidays. Students are received only under the condition that they arewilling to conform to the rules of this institution. II REPORTS AND STANDINGS Regular reports of deportment, scholarship, and attendance willbe sent to parents or guardians three times during the year. 75 is the passing mark. The standing of students is classified as follows:75-80, passed.80-90, passed with credit.90-100, passed with honor. Class standings in the school are determined in the followingmanner: One-third from daily recitations, one-third from daily ap-plication, and one-third from written tests. Students, who have maintained an average class standing of90 per cent in any subject, and whose deportment reaches the stand-ard of 95, will be advanced in that subject without examination. 12

REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION TO THEFRESHMAN CLASS The purpose of St. Benedicts College is the higher educationof women. In order to attain this end, the program has been ar-ranged for four years of college work, in conformity with the bestcollegiate standards. Applicants for admission to the Freshman class of the CollegeCourse must, by presenting diplomas or certificates, furnish evidencethat they have completed the preparatory courses.
