in that direction and the eastern portions moresteeply inclined. The dip of the rocks of the Fredericksburg divisionfrom west of Weatherford to Fort Worth is approximately 24 feet tothe mile; east of Fort Worth the angle increases to 40 feet to themile. Throughout the Lampasas Cut Plain between the Brazos and theSan Gabriel, where the dip of the Edwards limestone coincides withthe summit regional slope, it averages about L7.5 feet to the mile.Below the Edwards limestone the Basement Trinity beds have a greaterdip. as will be presently shown. Along the western margin of theBlack Prairie region, along the more acutely faulted portion of theBalcoues fault zone, the aggregate dip or downthrow of the rocksincreases to over 100 feet to the mile, being estimated at 110 feet inthe Austin section. The Basement sands in the same region as the overlying beds havea greater inclination, proportionate to the constant increment of theGlen Rose beds. Furthermore, the dip of the beds of the formations
