The retired Hlemmosona stands atthe western entrance and observes the ceremonj with the deepestinterest. As soon as the Hlemmosona leaves the plaza the circledance begins. Before ^ oclock the Hlewekwe are assembled in the plaza todance. The women carry two eagle-wing feathers in the righthand, the sword in the left, except in the case of the most expertfemale sword-swallower, who has a sword in each hand.
