As the season ad-vanced and the pressure on that source increased, we had to turn inother directions for relief, and bought the wave power pier and tanknear Rosss, for the purpose of lifting water from the sea, for $750.00.We then applied the old caloric engine, which we had on hand, andtried to pump with that. But this failing, after an expense with it ofabout $250, purchased a new apparatus, which, with all the appurte-nances, labor, &c, cost $965.88. The cost of plant for sprinklingstreets, including wave power pier, engine, machinery, and labor,is $1,965.88. Sprinkling streets for the summer, $451.25. Total forstreet sprinkling purposes $2,417.13. We have now plans which before another season will be completed, bywhich better results will be reached. BUSINESS LICENSES.The regular business licenses issued : This year, 198 Boat licenses—Fletcher Lake, $ 8 00 -Wesley Lake, 120 00 $12s 00Total for licenses this vear. . . .$2,158 00

The total number of cottage tents erected and in use by us duringthe season, was 141. The number of those not counted as cottage tents,94, making a total of 235 belonging to the Association. The othertents located promiscuously over the grounds, belonged to private par-ties. Some of these were erected by our men, but paid for by those forwhom the work was done.
