MWVS, ^■u^. East Carolina Teachers Training School. 21 This involves the questions of sanitation, food and its properpreparation, home decoration and dress. Pedagogy is an essential department of a Teachers Train-ing School. The instruction in this department deals with thefundamental principles of education; the relation of the dif-ferent branches of knowledge to one another and to the mind,and the method by which the human powers may be trained,and the mind stored with knowledge. It deals with the theoryand the practice of teaching. The Department of Pedagogy in this school devotes sometime to a study of the fundamental laws of mind that thestudents may utilize their knowledge of these mental activitiesin their own study. This includes within its scope a study ofChild Development and How to Teach Children to Study. The Teaching Process is emphasized with the aim of en-abling the students to understand and,make a practical applica-tion of the principles involved in good teaching an
