[edit]DescriptionAnneryHouse MonkleighPost1872.PNG | Engraving of Annery House, Monkleigh, North Devon, post 1872. Viewed from the east bank of the River Torridge in Weare Giffard parish, looking westward. Halfpenny Bridge was built as a toll bridge in 1835;(Scrutton, Susan, Lord Rolle's Canal, Great Torrington, 2006, p.23) part of the toll-house is visible to the extreme right on the river bank. The battlemented Annery Kiln with its ramp is visible on the far bank.
