I ANEURISMAL VARIX. 923 The wound suppurated and healed slowly, and before it healed apulsating swelling was noticed opposite the elbow. This hasslowly increased in size and for the past year there has been greatpain in the arm, referred to the ulnar region. On examination, patient has a very marked varicosity ofthe superficial veins on the ulnar side of the forearm, extendingfrom the wrist upward to the middle of the arm. (Fig. i.) Theveins are three-quarters of an inch in diameter and pulsate vigor-ously. At the elbow there is a pulsating mass over which a harshbruit is heard and thrill felt. The same loud bruit is heard at apoint one and a half inches above the wrist on the ulnar side, andto a less degree over the whole mass of varicose veins. Patientsgeneral condition is good; no history of syphilis or other consti-tutional trouble. There is partial ankylosis of the elbow joint,and the anterior
