Summary

[edit]
Description cultivated Angraecum eburneum, South Miami, FL. This is the first time flowering for this large orchid. It has three spikes of wonderfully fragrant (at night) flowers. Note that the flower is non-resupinate, an unusual condition in orchids. The pedicels of most orchid flowers are twisted so that the lip is pointing downward, a position in which the flower is morphologically upside-down. Not so with this species. The lip is uppermost.
