Title
Anglo-saxon copper alloy cruciform brooch fragment
Description
English: Early Medieval copper alloy cruciform brooch fragment, 68.4mm long, 50.4mm wide and 18.7mm thick (at bow) weight unknown. The brooch is good condition and has a good green patina. The brooch consists of a rectangular shaped head plate with two trapezoidal side plates, all plain. There are two integral semi circular(?) knops. The small bow has a triangular section with a visible ridge down its centre. Below this is a small section of rectangular bow which has two sub rectangular lappets, with central rounded protrusions, attached. At this point the brooch has snapped, probably due to plough damage. The reverse has traces of iron, probably from a pin (not shown). Recorded from Photograph.
