Anglo-Saxon tweezer arm
Description
English: The incomplete copper-alloy probable arm of a pair of Anglo-Saxon tweezers. This arm measures 30.6mm in surviving length and is incomplete due to an old break. The arm is rectangular in shape but flares outwards very abruptly at its terminal, it is 4.9mm in width at the incomplete narrower end, flares to 6.9mm after 19.6mm and then finally flares to a width 19.3mm across the terminal end. The front face of the arm is decorated with a central ring and dot motif six transverse grooves and then another central ring and dot motif before the terminal. The terminal has opposing rounded knops where it starts to flare and is decorated with two transverse rows of ring and dot motifs the first upper row has 3 motifs and the second has 5. The ends of the terminal turn inwards at a rounded roughly a 45 degree angle.
