Anglo-Saxon penny of Cnut
Description
English: a silver penny of Cnut. It is fragmentary, with approximately one third of the rim extant, surrounding the inner circle which shows a voided short cross. North vol.1, no. 790.
Dr Martin Allen has reported that the coin is of the Lewes mint (mint signature [LA]PA), and the moneyer is LE[ofwine] or LE[eofnoth]. EMC 2008.0213.
